The Annual Ball’s Falls Thanksgiving Festival would not be possible without the support of our volunteers. We encourage you to consider volunteering with us!
Get your high school volunteer hours completed, give back to the community, help us help the environment, connect with a wide network of volunteers… the benefits are endless.
Specialized volunteer roles:
Heritage Village Demonstrations:
(volunteers in this area must wear period-accurate costume of their own (if they own), or black trousers/skirt with a white shirt).
- Antique Power
- Grist Mill (water wheel and milling)
- Cabin and Garden (cooking, carding wool)
- Blacksmith shop (smithing, NPCA will provide iron)
- Display Barn (weaving and spinning)
- Ball Home (leading tours)
Family Fun and Games
- Minding/monitoring the heritage games area
- Lawn bowling, giant jenga, plinko, etc.
- Recycling and Waste Diversion Team
Assisting staff in the sorting and collection of waste
General Volunteer Roles:
Admission Greeters
- Apply proof-of-admission wristbands/stamps at the gate
- Provide general information/directions
Volunteer Support
- Relieve fellow volunteers of duties for breaks (could mean they rotate through various roles) b. Ensure all volunteers get breaks and refreshments for snacks and lunch c. Assist in setting up/taking down activity/heritage games areas
Guided Hike Support
- Assist NPCA staff along trails guiding visitors
